    strange + (e)r 构成,为可数名词。

    基本用法:
    躺 lie – lay – lain 现在分词是lying.

    v. 说谎 lie—lied—lied n. 谎言 tell a lie

    注意与lay 的区分:lay 放置,下蛋;lay --- laid --- laid;lay ut 摆开,布置

    用 lay / lie的正确形式填空。

    基本用法
    dead adj.die v. death n. 现在分词dying
    辨析dead, die, death与dying:
    dead 形容词,常和be动词连用,表示死的状态;
    die瞬间动词,意为“死亡”,指生命的结束,强调动作;
    death是die的名词形式,意为“死,死亡”;
    dying是die的现在分词,常用作形容词,意为“临死的;垂死的”。
    另外,
    the dead 表示死者 the+adj.表示一类人
    the ld 老人 the yung 年轻人 the pr 穷人

    表示将来时间,常用hw sn来对其提问。

    after+ 段时间,常与一般过去时连用;after+点时间,也可与将来时间连用。

    基本用法:
    similar 形容词,“相似的”,无比较级。
    Cats and tigers have similar features.
    相关短语:be the same as 和…相同 be different frm 和…不同
    注意:区别similar和same

    4. play a trick n 捉弄某人
    教材原句:“Trick r treat” means kids will play a trick n yu if yu dn’t give them a treat. (p13-1c)
    基本用法:
    play a jke/jkes n 开某人玩笑
    They decided t play a jke n their father by hiding his glasses.
    We shuldn’t play jkes n the disabled.
    5. dress up 打扮;盛装打扮;乔装打扮
    教材原句: I think it’s fun t dress up as cartn characters! (p13-1d)
    基本用法:
    1 dress up as 打扮成……,装扮成…
    They dress up as ghsts and witches(女巫).
    Sme peple dressed up as clwns(小丑) at the cstume party.
    【辨析】put n, in, wear, dress (up)
    put n“穿上,戴上”,强调穿、戴的动作,后接衣服、鞋、帽等。
    in介词,后接表示衣服或颜色的词,着重于服装的款式或颜色。它所构成的短语只能作表语或定语。
    wear“穿着,戴着”,表示状态,宾语可以是衣帽,也可以是饰物、奖章等。
    dress宾语通常是人,意为“给...穿衣服”。Dress neself或get dressed表示给自己穿衣服。
    6. end up 结束
    教材原句:He warns Scrge t change his ways if he desn’t want t end up like him. (p14-2d)
    基本用法
    If yu dn’t wrk hard, yu’ll end up nwhere.
    end up ding 结束做某事,做完某事,等同finish ding sth.
    end up with…表示以…为结束,以…为结尾,其反义短语是begin with
