展开What is cmparisn?cmparisn的目的是为了“比同”,找到事物之间的共同点,通过熟悉的事物来了解不熟悉的事物(t present infrmatin abut smething unfamiliar by cmparing it with smething familiar)。

举例说明: Frm Paragraph t EssayAlthugh they are different in length (长度), the paragraph and the essay are quite similar in structure (结构). In the essay, the first paragraph sets up the tpic fcus (主题所在) Next, the sentences in the bdy f a paragraph develp the tpic sentence. Similarly, the bdy f an essay cnsists f a number f paragraphs that discuss and supprt the ideas given in the intrductry (引导的) paragraph.
Finally, a cncluding sentence (结束句) ——whether a restatement, cnclusin, r bservatin——ends the paragraph. The essay, t, has a cncluding paragraph which ends the essay lgically and satisfactrily. Althugh there are sme exceptins (例外), mst well written expsitry (说明文的) paragraphs and essays are similar in structure.可以看出,在比较相同点的时候,常用到similarly,als,t,in the same case,in spite f the difference等这样的词语。
What is cntrast?cntrast对比的目的是为了“比异”,寻找事物之间的差异,从而凸显其中一个事物的某一方面的特质(t highlight the superirity f ne thing by cntrasting it with anther ),吸引读者注意力(draw reader’s attentin)。

举例说明:Eurpean Ftball and American FtballAlthugh Eurpean ftball is the parent f American ftball, the tw games shw several majr differences. Eurpean ftball, smetimes called assciatin ftball r sccer, is played in 80 cuntries, making it the mst widely played sprt in the wrld. American ftball, n the ther hand, is ppular nly in Nrth America (the United States and Canada)。 Sccer is played by eleven players with a rund ball. Ftball, als played by eleven players in smewhat different psitins (位置) n the field, is played with an elngated (拉长的) rund ball. Sccer has little bdy cntact (接触) between players and therefre needs n special prtective equipment.
Ftball, in which players make the greatest use f bdy cntact t stp a running ball-carrier and his teammates, needs special prtective equipment. In sccer, the ball is advanced tward the gal by kicking it r by butting (顶) it with the head. In American ftball, n the ther hand, the ball is passed frm hand t hand r carried in the hands acrss the ppnent's (对手) gal. 比较(cmparisn)主要是指出两个或两个以上不同种类的共同点或相似点(similarities),如人物、事物、地点、思想、观点等。对照(cntrast)主要是指它们的不同点(difference)。在英语写作中,比较和对照往往同时使用。写作时,首先应考虑要比较和对照的两个或两个以上的事物,然后列一个表,发现这些事物的最主要特征,相同的或类似的特征可以比较,不同的特征可以组成对照。
对比比较型作文一般分为说明式比较和议论式比较两种。说明式比较在比较过程中,作者不发表个人意见,在文中不体现个人取向,单纯以说明介绍为目的。议论式比较以比较事物的优劣,阐明自己立场为目的。例如:1.表明一方或双方的观点及理由;2.表明另一方的观点及理由,或指出双方观点不足之处及理由;3.表明个人态度或阐述个人做法。
