When I read a pst abut taking smene t the mvies, I was reminded f smething that happened a cuple f years ag.
I used t drink Ckes and they had a cmpetitin where there was a cde inside the bttle cap. Yu went t a website and entered the cde and maybe yu wn smething. I wn sme free Ckes. But then I wn the Grand Prize! I was surprised and pleased.
The Grand Prize was free mvies fr a year. They pinted ut that ne mvie a week was what free mvies fr a year meant. All f the tickets had a deadline later than a year frm the day I received them. S I must use them in the fllwing year. I used quite a few taking friends t mvies we all wanted t see.
But the best thing I did with them was that I dnated 22 tickets (all I had left by that
time) t the lcal Wmen’s Transitin Huse, a place where wmen and their children culd g when aviding dmestic vilence (家庭暴力) r just a bad situatin in general and get help t make a new start.
My wrkplace team had decided they wuld be a charity , s we cllected dnatins fr that particular New Year’s Day. I knew that the Wmen’s Transitin Huse prvided sme childcare fr the wmen s they culd g fr jb interviews and things like that.
I put thse tickets in an envelpe and wrte a nte n the utside, asking the Wmen’s Transitin Huse staff t give mvie tickets t wmen there ver the hlidays t have smething fun t d, with r withut their children. It made me really happy t d this.
