I’m in middle schl, and nt that gd at reading. I am a little behind and hate the bks we are made t read. But I want t get better at reading. I dn’t like being the weakest reader in the class. I want t change. I knw I need help when it cmes t reading. I’m hpeful that I can vercme (克服) my weakness if I try t find sme ways and wrk hard.
S I g t the library every weekend. Last Saturday I went straight t the Yung Adult sectin t search. There were hundreds f bks t chse frm. Finally, I saw a cver that was shiny, and it reflected (反射) the light and caught my eye. I saw that it was blue — I liked blue. S I picked it up and read the back. It sunded interesting, althugh it was the secnd bk in the series, I gt it. I read that bk in tw days, and fund it was s attractive, s I read the whle series in a week.
By judging (判断) a bk by its cver, I was nt nly able t pick up a bk that became ne f my favurites, but I als didn’t have t pick up hundreds f bks that I may nt like. If I never judged a bk by its cver, I might have never fund that bk in the first place.
This advice is suitable fr ther things in life as well, especially when it cmes t peple. It’s nt always exact, but by judging a persn by their appearance — the way they dress, talk, and act — yu can quickly see if yu want t read their general cnditin by having a cnversatin with them. If yu enjy them like yu enjy a gd bk, then yu can keep them in yur inner circle — the peple that yu care abut and wh care abut yu.
