In early 2021, I hit a rut in my studies. As a dctral candidate at the University f Chicag in Illinis, I wrked t design safer, mre effective materials fr vaccine delivery. Althugh I had been prductive early in my graduate career, my lng hurs and hard wrk were n lnger translating int success in the labratry, and I felt hpeless abut achieving my gals. Smething had t change.
As I began t search fr the cause f my struggles, I became increasingly aware that my "quiet time" at the lab bench — fr instance, when I was running clumns r experiments — was anything but. Instead f thinking abut science, I was watching televisin r interacting with scial media n my smartphne. Althugh I culd cver up this inefficiency with lnger hurs, my wrk felt chatic (混乱的) and disrganized. I wuld cme hme frm a lng day in the lab and respnd t e-mails r messages ver dinner r in bed. This all came t a head last summer, when my inability t balance wrk and life led me t seek help frm the university's student mental-health services.
Thrugh a cmbinatin f cnsultatin and persnal reflectin, I came t understand my prblems. T regain my fcus, I chse t reduce my cnnectivity by using a basic mbile phne withut an Internet cnnectin during wrk hurs, and remving unnecessary apps frm my smartphne when I did use it.
Underscring the addictive nature f smartphnes, I experienced symptms f withdrawal when I first did this. With time, hwever, I began t make practical use f my quiet time. I started reading papers during lng experiments and develped a habit f writing in my dwn time. Perhaps mst imprtantly, I have felt my anxiety decrease and my prductivity and creativity imprve dramatically, trading my chatic wrk-life relatinship fr ne with clearer bundaries and plenty f new scientific ideas. Nw, even when I d carry my smartphne, I feel less frced t check fr e-mails r messages and can cncentrate mre clsely n whatever task is at hand.

Like mst nerds wh read science fictin, I've kept wndering hw sciety will greet true artificial intelligence, if and when it arrives. Will we panic? Ignre it and g abut ur daily lives? B. Linguistic researchers speak highly f it.
C. It is welcmed by A. I. researchers with enthusiasm.
D. It is the first pwerful tl pen t the general public.
31. What's the text mainly abut?

C. The develpment f ChatGPTD. The arguments abut ChatGPT
