My first day in high schl will never be frgtten. When I gt t the classrm in the mrning. I saw that Mr. Brwn had already put ur names n ur tables. After walking a few steps. I saw my name n the table right in the middle f the classrm. Walking up t my table, my heart sang. “It wuld be great t sit there. I culd see everything easily.” I thught t myself.
A while later, the ther students entered ne by ne and tk their wn seats. And then Mr. Brwn Started talking. He shwed us his classrm rules and tried t explain them. All f a sudden. a student called Tny started singing ludly. All the while he mved his bdy t the music. His deskmate Jsh Culdn’t understand why he was ding these things. Then he std up and talked t Mr. Brwn. “I dn’t want t sit with this strange guy. Can I swap seats with smene else in this rm, please?”
Mr. Brwn didn’t answer his questin directly. He stpped what he was ding and turned n his cmputer. Then he shwed us sme pictures abut autistic (自闭症的) kids. Emjis (表情符号) are a new way f cmmunicatin nwadays. There are mre than 3,000 different emji s and mst f us use them many times every day when we message a friend.
The first- ever emji s were designed in 1997. There were 90 emji s in this set, but they were nly fund n ne type f expensive Japanese mbile phne that nt many peple used. The first set f widely- used emji s was created by Shigetaka Kurita in 1999. He made 180 emji s accrding t expressins he saw n peple’s faces. Chinese characters, traffic signs, etc.
Are emji s a language? Prbably nt. An article in Deakin University’s nline magazine This suggests emji s aren’t a language because we can’t “have fluent and cmplex (复杂的) cnversatins r express specific thughts using emjis”.
But emji s are a useful cmmunicatin tl, accrding t Deakin University’s Dr. Adam Brwn. He predicts (预测) in the This article that emjis are just the start f increasingly mre cmplex cmmunicatin in the future.
Althugh emjis aren’t themselves a language, the wrd “emji” was recgnized as part f the English language in 2013 when it was added t the Oxfrd English Dictinary.
New emjis are invented every year and added t emji keybards. Face with Tears f Jy was ne f the mst ppular emjis in the past five years. In 2015, Oxfrd Dictinaries named it Wrd f the Year.
Emjipedia describes Face with Tears f Jy as a yellw face with a big smile, uplifted eyebrws, and smiling eyes, each crying a tear frm laughing s hard. It is widely used t shw smething is funny r pleasing.
Other ppular emjis are Ludly Crying Face. Smiling Face with Heart- Eyes, Red Heart, Purple Heart and Tw Hearts.

Fr many years, scientists and animal lvers have wrked t make the wrld safer fr endangered species(濒危物种). Nw, there is smething that needs prtectin frm these prtected animals — a famus French cheese called Rquefrt, knwn as the “King f Cheeses”.
Rquefrt is made frm sheep’s milk in the suthern part f the French muntains. Farmers have been making Rquefrt fr thusands f years, and they fllw many rules when making it, t be sure that it is dne in the traditinal way. One f the rules is that they must let their sheep live freely in the muntains.
Hwever, fllwing these rules has becme very dangerus. Wlves have mved int the area, and they have killed 62 sheep. The wlves are an endangered species, and have nt been seen in the French muntain s since the 1920s. N ne is allwed t kill the wlves, but the farmers are nw saying it is impssible fr their sheep t live in the same muntains as the wlves. Farmers have dgs t prtect the sheep and have als built electric fences (电栅栏), but they say they will nt have enugh mney t cntinue making Rquefrt nce they have spent it all n keeping their sheep safe. Many peple have said that wlves that attack (袭击) sheep shuld be killed, since they have becme a threat t the farmers’ jbs. Emjis (表情符号) are a new way f cmmunicatin nwadays. There are mre than 3,000 different emji s and mst f us use them many times every day when we message a friend.
The first- ever emji s were designed in 1997. There were 90 emji s in this set, but they were nly fund n ne type f expensive Japanese mbile phne that nt many peple used.
