Students will be able to give Andrew some advice.Ⅲ Value objectivesStudents should learn how to judge a person correctly.Teaching procedures:Step 1 Revision Ask students what DIY stands for and if they did DIY before. If the answer is yes, ask what they did and what tools they used when doing DIY. (设计意图:复习与话题相关的上节课所学内容,并把话题内容与学生实际生活相联系,激发他们对本堂课所学内容的期待)Step 2 Predict from the title.Who is the main character of the story?What may the story tell us?Predict from the picture. Is the boy good at DIY? Read Para 1 quickly.Guess the meaning of “be crazy about”. Which sentence can help you guess the meaning?Is Andrew good at DIY? Which sentence in the paragraph makes you think so? What does the word “terrible” mean? Which word helps you guess the meaning?Read Para 2 -4, and find out how many examples the writer uses to prove that Andrew is not good at DIY. Circle the key words.Use the following three questions to analyze Andrew’s DIY experiences with the help of the mind map.What did Andrew plan to do? What happened in the end?
