In just a few mnths, the grup’s jint effrt saw them create an amazing slutin allwing peple with disabilities t walk their babies independently, just in time fr the birth f the cuple’s sn.
The Kings were cntent with the result. Jeremy expressed hw excited it was t finally have the ability t take a walk with his child, smething he didn’t think wuld be pssible. “The mst striking findings f ur study is that peple didn’t eat fewer chips when dip was available—they ate the same amunt f chips, plus the dip,” pinted ut study authr Jhn Hayes, prfessr f fd science and directr f PSSEC. “This lack f cmpensatin means that adding dip t chips can substantially increase verall energy intake withut peple realizing it.”
The study assessed 46 adult participants. In tw visits t the Sensry Evaluatin Center, they were served 70 grams f ranch-flavred chips, r abut 2.5 servings, with r withut abut a third f a cup f ranch dip. Participants ate as much as they wanted. Their intake was measured, and all eating sessins were vide recrded and anntated fr the number f bites and active eating time. Researchers used that infrmatin t calculate measures f “eating micrstructure”, including eating rate and bite size.
Hayes suggested that the greater intake f the chips and dip snack was facilitated by a larger bite size resulting frm dip inclusin. On average per eating sessin, participants cnsumed 345 calries f chips and dip cmpared t 195 calries f chips alne.
“This research pens up new avenues fr explring hw the physical prperties f fds can influence ur eating behavirs and ultimately, ur energy intake,” he said. “If we can slw peple dwn, we can influence energy cnsumptin withut giving up the pleasure frm fd.”

Mnarch butterflies (帝王蝶), with their striking range and black wings, are sme f the mst recgnizable butterflies in Nrth America. But they’re in truble. They will make it all the way t suthern Canada, and at the end f summer, a new super generatin is brn that migrates all the way suth and survives thrugh the winter. Since it takes multiple generatins f milkweed-eating caterpillars t get the mnarch ppulatin frm Mexic t Canada each year, the mnarchs rely n milkweed plants thrughut their migratin path,” says Klinger, the study’s lead authr and a Gegraphic Infrmatin Systems analyst in the Keller Science Actin Center.
Klinger and his clleague wrked with vlunteers arund Chicag land t mnitr milkweed plants in their yards and neighbrhds fr mnarch butterflies laying their eggs n the plants and caterpillars eating the milkweed leaves.

What species f milkweed, hw many plants, hw big f a garden? There are s many questins t answer, s we were hping that we culd use this prject and the data frm it t start answering thse questins,” says Klinger.
32.What des the underlined wrd “hspitable” in paragraph 2 mean?
    A.Critical. B.Welcming. C.Efficient. D.Abnrmal.
33.Why des the authr mentin the demanding migratin pattern f mnarch butterflies?
A.T explain hw the butterflies try t reprduce.
B.T prve what a difficult life the butterflies live.

D.T shw why milkweed is imprtant t the butterflies.

She reminded me f the cuntless times I had faced challenges befre and hw I had always managed t vercme them. Her wrds sparked a fire within me. I knew I culdn't let this disappintment define me. Instead, I decided t turn it int mtivatin t prve my wrth and imprve my skills. I thanked her fr the encuragement and prmised myself that I wuld nt let this rejectin be the end f my jurney.
