We all have gd days and bad days with ur health, and it can be difficult when ur bdies are nt perfrming the way we want them t r need them t. But ur health is nt ut f ur pwer t cntrl. As a matter f fact, we all d have a super pwerful tl right in ur wn heads. It’s ur amazing brain.
Researchers that study the brain-bdy cnnectin have shwn in numerus experiments hw the brain can be tricked int believing it is getting better. A simple sugar pill (药片) can relieve pain r even cure an illness if the persn believes that the pill being taken is genuine medicine.
That’s hw pwerful ur brains are. They can make physical changes in ur bdies beynd what we wuld nrmally give them credit fr. There is a bk I reread regularly called Super Brain. The authrs, Deepak Chpra and Rudlph E. Tanzi, pint ut that any f us can, if we chse, set up r create ur wn placeb (安慰剂) effect at any time withut any kind f pill.
What’s super interesting, as Chpra and Tanzi explain, is that “the effect isn’t limited t drugs, which is imprtant t remember: anything yu believe in can act as a placeb”.
They als ask where the relief cmes frm when the placebs are nt actually ding anything themselves. They explain that it is simply “the mind telling the bdy t get well”. The bdy really believes what it was being tld and then it relieves the pain r heals (治愈) the sickness because it believes it can. In ther wrds, yur mind can and des influence healing f all kinds including pain, disease and wunds that ur bdies deal with frm time t time.
That is certainly wrth trying fr mst, if nt all f us, whenever we want t cure ur pain, prblems r disease. These kinds f things are prbably very helpful t d n a regular basis even.
    28. What des the authr think f the rle f the brain in health?
    A. It’s strange.B. It’s pwerless.C. It’s fantastic.D. It’s uncertain.
    29. What des Super Brain suggest abut placeb effects?
    A. They need pills.B. They’re limited t drugs.
    C. They’re always temprary.D. They can be created mentally.
    30. What is the key fr a placeb t wrk accrding t the text?
    A. The degree f pain.B. The persn’s belief.
    C. The type f illness.D. The dctr’s advice.
    31. What des the authr want t say in the text?
    A. Placebs are ineffective in medicine.
    B. Medicine is the best way t treat illness.
    C. Pain cannt be relieved withut medicine.
    D. The mind influences the healing f the bdy.
    D

Althugh we can’t predict the exact changes which will be made in the wrld, we ften think abut them. We wrry abut ur future; we have expectatins, hpes as well as fears. But I think we shuld be rather cnfident abut ur future. We shuld be happy and believe gd things will happen.

    D. The relatinship between peple will be mre imprtant than that f tday.
    35. What des the text mainly talk abut?
    A. What ur life will be like in the year 2050.
    B. What high technlgy will appear in the year 2050.
    C. Hw peple will cmmunicate in the year 2050.
    D. Hw peple will travel and spend their hlidays in the year 2050.
