Brn in 1940 in Nyeri, Kenya, Wangari Maathai spent her childhd in the Kenyan cuntryside and her yung adult life in the United States. With her knwledge f bilgy and her passin fr helping thers, Wangari decided t take actin. Wangari had tw gals in mind: t help restre envirnmental resurces and give wmen the ability t supprt their families in a self-sufficient, sustainable way.
