The students were asked t write sme wrds using pen and paper r typing them n a keybard. Their brain activity during each task was captured thrugh electrnicephalgram (EEG) techniques.
“The mst surprising thing was that the whle brain was active when the students were writing by hand, while much smaller areas were active when they were typewriting,” van der Meer says. “This suggests that when yu are writing by hand yu are using mst f yur brain t get the jb dne.”
