The cean waves are getting strnger as a result f climate change, which might cause dangers fr castal cities in the future, accrding t the latest study published in the scientific jurnal Nature. Researcher fund that waves have increased in strength by 0.41 percent per year since 1948. A strm was frmed in the winter f 2013-2014 in the Nrth Atlantic, which affected the west cast f Eurpe. “The strm in 2017 in the Caribbean reminded peple f the huge ecnmic effects cming frm castal strms,” said the study.
Researchers hpe the findings culd prvide a mre cmplete understanding f the dangers faced by castal cities in the cming decades. “Our results shw that ignring the changes in wave pwer and having sea level rise may cause us t think little f climate change, which will result in nt enugh r pr preparatin,” warned the authr Fernand J. Mendez, a prfessr at the University f Cantabria.
