Unfrtunately, ver-expsure t the radiactive elements made her develp a disease and die in 1934. Marie Curie wn the Nbel Prize in tw different fields. Because f her pineering wrk which led t chemtherapy (化学疗法), the charity decided n the name f Marie Curie.
The daffdil is ne f the first plants t flwer during spring in the UK, which marks the return f flwering plants t the ecsystem after winter. Because f this, the charity uses the daffdil as a metaphr (比喻) fr bringing rebirth thrugh charitable giving.

Time and again, gd and caring peple fail t cme t the assistance f thers. They knw they shuld act and, hwever, fr reasns they themselves dn’t understand, peple smetimes dn’t respnd. Why?

“If yu ntice truble, frce yurself t stp and judge the situatin instead f walking away,” says Ervin Staub. Then try t invlve ther peple; yu dn’t have t take n all the respnsibility f being helpful. Accrding t Staub, it is smetimes just a matter f turning t the persn next t yu and saying, “It lks like we shuld d smething.” Once yu take actin, mst peple will fllw yu and als help.
32. Accrding t Ervin Staub, when accidents happen, peple’s first thughts ________.
A. frce them t give a handB. depend n thers’ reactin
C. prevent them frm helpingD. ften lead t embarrassment
33. What des “the bystander effects” in paragraph 5 shw?

C. The majrity f peple have the same idea.
D. Peple tend t think twice befre they act.
34. What shuld yu prbably act if yu bserve truble accrding t the last paragraph?
A. Call the ambulance as sn as yu can.
B. Evaluate the situatin and take actin alne.
C. Stp and try t invlve ther peple t help tgether.
D. Turn t thers and ask them t take n the whle respnsibility.
35. What can be the best title fr the text?

56. built 57. largest 58. t attract 59. curisity 60. which 61. the 62. but 63. safely
64. driving 65. will be flded
62. “abve the surface (在水面上)”与“under the water (在水下)”是相反的位置,因此需要使用转折连词but。
