本课时包括 Starting ut和 Understanding ideas两部分。
Starting ut是导入部分,包括观看视频回答问题和听读诗歌回答问题两个环节。通过观看视频回答问题,将学生导入视频中提到的人物、他们的成就以及他们成功的原因。在听和阅读诗歌的过程中,教师引导学生理解诗歌的特点,并了解诗歌所传递的信息:无论遇到什么困境,都不要放弃。
Understanding ideas部分以例证法来阐述坚持的力量。著名作家(乔安妮·凯瑟琳·罗琳)、JD.Salinger(杰罗姆·大卫·塞林格)以及 Brntë sisters(勃朗特三姐妹)在屡次被拒稿的情况下,依然坚持自己的梦想。通过坚持和努力,让梦想绽放得绚丽夺目,成就世界文学史上的经典著作。
课时目标:
1.认知并灵活运用本课时的重点单词debt、pace、 infrm、rarely、rejectin、nevertheless、persevere、criticism、classic、endurance、guarantee、delighted以及短语 stick t、take fr example、translate int等。
2.通过速度、精读等方式,引导学生由浅入深,逐层推进,加深对文章的理解,并掌握不同的阅读技巧和方法。通过对所设置题目的解答,学生学会根据关键词提取重要信息,理清文章线索,并学会深层次分析问题,提高归纳概括、推理判断的能力。
3.通过阅读文章,使学生了解仅靠天赋不足以获得成功,坚持不懈才是成功的关键。

1.在网上搜索美国诗人 Edgar Albert Guest(埃德加·阿尔贝特·格斯特)的名篇《不要放弃》,并了解诗歌的特点以及所要传达的信息。
2.上网搜索作家(乔安妮·凯瑟琳·罗琳)、(杰罗姆·大卫·塞林格)以及 Brntë sisters(勃朗特三姐妹)的生活背景、创作之路以及坚持梦想所付出的努力和成就。
3.预习 Starting ut和 Understanding ideas两部分的内容,通过查字典等方式提前解决词汇问题。
教学过程:
Step I Starting ut
1. Play the vide fr students t watch, then ask them t answer the fllwing questins:
·Wh are the peple mentined in the vide and what are their achievements?
·What made them successful?
2. Play the tape fr students t listen and then ask them t answer the fllwing questins:
·What is the key message f the pem?
·Which f life’s difficulties are mentined in the pem?
What is yur understanding f the line “Success is failure turned inside ut”?
·D yu like the pem? Give yur reasns.
3. Ask students t read the pem and learn it further.

Step II Reading
1. Pre-reading.
