Then, Dr. Lysn arrived n the site with the family as well as a skilled team t dig up the fssil. Tgether, they discvered the remains f the teenage Tyrannsaurus Rex.
It is unusual t find cmplete Tyrannsaurus Rex fssils, and even mre unusual t find the remains f a yung ne, s Dr. Lysn was excited when he realized what they had unearthed. The fssil, which has since been called "Teen Rex", is between12 and 14 years ld at the time f death. Even thugh it was still grwing, the dinsaur already weighed 3,500 punds and was 25 feet lng, thugh these impressive measurements still put it at abut half the size f a fully develped Tyrannsaurus Rex.
"These bys have made an incredible dinsaur discvery that advances science and deepens ur understanding f the natural wrld," says Dr. Lysn, "I’m excited fr museum guests t dig int the Teen Rex Discvery experience, which I think will inspire the imaginatin and wnder, nt nly in ur cmmunity, but arund the wrld!"

Batteries are getting smaller, lighter and mre pwerful all the time. This is gd news fr industries and buyers f prducts ranging frm electric cars t mbile phnes. But fr sme applicatins, the cnventinal shape and structure f a battery is simply t heavy and awkward t use. Fr example, skin patches (贴片) that mnitr health cnditins, require mre clse cntact.
Since batteries can’t bend like skin and tissue, they becme unreliable and uncmfrtable t wear. A number f appraches are therefre being taken t prduce flexible batteries. Amng the mst prmising, thugh, are water-based batteries inspired by the way an electric eel (鳗鱼) stres its charge.
A grup at the University f Cambridge has used the eel’s technique t cme up with what it calls "jelly batteries". These are made frm materials cnsisting f ver 60% water. This makes them bth sft and flexible. Whereas mst batteries lse cnductivity if the material is bent r stretched, a jelly battery can be stretched up t ne-and-a-half times its length with n vltage (电压) lss. This means it can be wrn mre cmfrtably against the skin and is mre reliable when transplanted int internal rgans, like the lung, heart r brain.
The jelly battery wrks in much the same way that bilgical prcesses prduce electricity. They rely n the different cncentratins f electrically charged particles (粒子). This creates a difference in electrical ptential, prducing a tiny vltage. Electric eels strengthen it by having thusands f muscle cells acting tgether t prduce a vltage pwerful enugh t hunt.
Besides wearable and implantable devices, anther ptential market fr stretchable batteries is sft rbtics. Fr ne thing, stretchy cmpnents wuld be safer t perate amng peple than traditinal rbts. They culd als help pwer ther devices, such as glves that allw strke victims t mve their hands. All this shuld prvide plenty f ideas fr wearable innvatins.

A.By using charged particles fr ptential.
    B.By muscle cells prducing vltage.
    C.By adding stretchy cmpnents.
D.By strengthening vltage like electric eels.
11.What can be inferred abut the battery market?

Paul Blm, a psychlgist at Yale University, defines empathy (共情) as the act f stepping int smene’s mind t experience their feelings and it’s what he takes issue with. “Experiencing smene else’s pain will mtivate us t care abut and help that persn,” he writes, “Hwever, it leads t sme mral dilemmas.”

Sadly, this very bright, very brave girl learns she has weeks r mnths befre that happens. When participants in a study were presented with Sheri’s stry, arund three-quarters mved her up the list t get her treatment earlier. Yet, ding s culd mean every ther child abve her n the list wuld have t wait even lnger, many f whm might be mre deserving.
Peple are much mre likely t pen their hearts — r wallets — when there is a visible beneficiary (受益人) whse pain culd be eased. The charity that campaigns with a single stry f a named, suffering child may win mre dnatins cmpared with the charity that nly displays statistics describing 1,000 annymus (匿名的) children.
There’s nthing wrng with using persnal stries t raise awareness f a wrthy cause, but the identifiable victim effect des nevertheless take billins f dllars away frm where it culd d mre gd fr a greater number f peple.
The research suggests that we ught t start making a clearer distinctin between empathy and its apparent synnym (同义词): "sympathy". T be sympathetic, it is mre abut the idea f extending kindness twards thers.
Blm uses the example f an adult cmfrting a child wh is terrified f a small, barking dg. The adult desn’t need t feel the child’s fear t help. "There can be sympathy fr the child, a desire t make his r her fear g away, withut any shared experience r empathetic discmfrt," he writes.
