My birth was a little mre dramatic than the standard way a baby enters the wrld. I was brn missing my left hand. I’m sure it was quite jarring fr my parents.

Hiding feels a lt like lying, and the mre yu hide, the harder it becmes t stp hiding.

The 2023 Nbel Prize in Chemistry has brught the remarkable capabilities f artificial intelligence (AI) int the sptlight, particularly in the field f prtein structure predictin. This year’s award celebrated the develpment f AlphaFld, an AI tl created by DeepMind, which has transfrmed ur ability t understand prteins — the fundamental building blcks f life.
Prteins, cmpsed f chains f amin acids (氨基酸), are essential fr the structure, functin, and regulatin f tissues and rgans in the human bdy. Traditinally, determining a prtein’s 3D structure was a time-cnsuming prcess that culd take years f meticulus wrk. Hwever, AlphaFld has revlutinized this field by predicting prtein structures frm their amin acid sequences in mere minutes.
AlphaFld’s success lies in its use f deep learning algrithms (算法) that can identify patterns in vast amunts f data. It has been trained n extensive databases f knwn prtein structures and amin acid sequences, allwing it t predict ver 200 millin prtein structures. This includes nearly all catalged prteins knwn t science, frm humans t plants, bacteria, animals, and ther rganisms.
The impact f AlphaFld is nt just limited t theretical science; it has practical applicatins in drug and vaccine develpment. Fr example, AlphaFld played a crucial rle in advancing research fr a malaria vaccine. By accurately predicting the structure f a key prtein, AlphaFld enabled scientists t identify which parts f the prtein t target in the vaccine, thus accelerating the research frm fundamental science t preclinical and clinical develpment stages.
Mrever, AlphaFld’s pen-surce nature allws academic scientists t predict prtein interactins, which is crucial fr understanding hw prteins behave in the presence f ptential drugs. This advancement nt nly accelerates bimedical research but als has the ptential t imprve ur understanding f antibitic resistance and cntribute t the develpment f enzymes that can decmpse plastic, addressing envirnmental cncerns.
With AlphaFld demnstrating hw AI can supercharge existing knwledge t benefit mankind, the pssibilities f AI in scientific research are vast and hld the prmise f further breakthrughs that culd change the wrld.

故填that/which。
故填a。
