    Gerunds(动名词)
    Presentatin
    Cmmunicating is mre than just speaking.
    Gerunds are nuns ending in -ing. These nuns refer t actins and activities.
    1 Gerunds are ending with “ing”. 2 Gerunds refer t and .

    Verbs ending with silent e
    Verbs ending with stressed clsed syllables
    Rule: We frm a gerund by adding “ing” t a verb.
    动名词的构成规则如下(1)一般在动词原形后直接加ing .(2)以不发音的字母e结尾的动词,去掉e再加 ing(3)以重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词, 双写最后一个字母再加ing(4)少数以-ie结尾的动词,把ie变为y再加ing

    A Gerunds as subjects
    We can use a gerund as the subject f a sentence.
    When we use a gerund as the subject f a sentence, the main verb is in (singular/plural) frm.
    ▲ 动名词作主语时,谓语用单数。Cmmunicating is nt just speaking. 交流不仅仅是说话。▲ 两个或两个以上不同的动名词作主语,谓语用复数。Playing cmputer games and playing basketball are my hbbies. 打游戏和打篮球是我的兴趣爱好。
    动名词作主语与不定式作主语的区别动名词作主语通常表示抽象的或泛指的动作;不定式作主语通常表示具体的动作或行为___________with fire is dangerus. (泛指玩火)_______with fire will be dangerus. (具体动作)
    当表语是动名词时,主语也要用动名词;当表语是不定式时,主语也要用不定式,如:
    Seeing is ____________. __________is t believe.

    B Gerunds as bjects
    1. 英语中有一些动词(短语)后面常接动名词作宾语。如: enjy (like, lve), suggest, mind, finish, practise, deny, avid, admit, keep, miss我不介意开门。I dn’t mind pening the dr.2.介词后要使用动名词。他善于画画。He is gd at drawing pictures.
    enjy 享受,喜爱finish 完成frgive 原谅keep 保持,坚持imagine 设想miss 错过mind 介意permit 允许
    admit 承认advise 建议allw 允许avid 避免cnsider 考虑dislike 不喜欢,讨厌delay 延迟deny 否认
    英语中有一些动词后面常接动名词作宾语。
    risk 冒险suggest 建议practise 练习,实践prevent 阻止
    有些动词 (cntinue继续,prefer更喜欢,begin开始,hate讨厌,憎恨,like喜欢,start开始,lve喜爱)后面既可以接不定式作宾语,也可以接动名词作宾语,意义差别不大。通常认为用动名词泛指一般的倾向性,用不定式则表示特定或具体某一种动作。

    常见的“动词+介词+动名词”的短语有:prefer... t, be used t, lk frward t , feel like, give up, keep n, insist n, succeed in等。你必须马上戒烟。 Yu must give up smking at nce. 他不想做家庭作业。He desn’t feel like ding his hmewrk.
    某些惯用法:(1) be busy ding sth “忙于做某事”妈妈在厨房忙着做饭。Mther is busy cking dinner in the kitchen. (2) be wrth ding sth “值得做某事”这本书值得一读。The bk is wrth reading. (3) It’s n use / gd ding sth“做……无用 / 无好处”向他寻求帮助没有用。It’s n use ging t him fr help.

    动名词1 动名词的基本形式:动词原形+ing;否定式:nt +动词原形+ing。2 动名词在句中的作用:(1)作主语。如:眼见为实。Seeing is believing. 注意:动名词作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。(2)作宾语。如:我很喜欢旅游。I like travelling very much.
    3 习惯接动名词作宾语的动词有:enjy, finish, imagine, keep, mind, practise等。如:My sister enjys playing tennis. 我姐姐喜欢打网球。D yu mind pening the windw? 你介意开窗吗?4 动名词也可以在短语动词和介词后作宾语,习惯接动名词作宾语的短语有:be afraid f, be busy, be gd at, be interested in, be wrth, feel like, hw / what abut, lk frward t, pay attentin t, succeed in, think f等。如:Are yu interested in playing chess? 你对下象棋感兴趣吗?I’m lking frward t visiting the Great Wall. 我盼望去参观长城。
    接动词不定式或动名词均可且含义相同的动词有:begin, start, like, lve, hate, prefer, cntinue等。接不定式多指具体的动作,接动名词多指一般或习惯行为。如:He likes t sing / singing. 他喜欢唱歌。It began t rain / raining. 开始下雨了。6 以下动词接不定式和动名词意义大不相同: stp t d smething 停止手中事,去做另一件事 stp ding smething 停止正在做的事
