    Rad. The text prvides rich infrmatin and language input, and the exercises help
    students cnslidate their language skills and thinking abilities.

    Students in Grade 7 have sme basic English language skills, but they may still

    Step 1: Warming-up (5 minutes)
    1. Shw sme pictures f the Silk Rad and ask students what they knw abut it.
    2. Have a shrt discussin abut the imprtance f the Silk Rad in histry and its
    influence n cultural exchanges.
    Step 2: Pre-reading (5 minutes)
    1. Present the title f the lessn "Marc Pl and the Silk Rad" and ask students t
    predict what the text might be abut.
    2. Intrduce Marc Pl briefly and aruse students' curisity abut his adventures
    n the Silk Rad.
    Step 3: While-reading (10 minutes)
    1. Fast reading
    Ask students t read the text quickly and answer the fllwing questins:
    What is the main idea f the passage?
    Wh was Marc Pl?
    Check the answers with the class.
    2. Careful reading
    Ask students t read the text carefully again and answer the detailed

    questins:
    What cuntry did Marc Pl cme frm?
    Hw did he and his brther travel?
    Hw lng did his jurney last?
    When did he travel t Beijing?
    What did he bring back t his hme cuntry?
    Have students wrk in pairs t discuss the answers and then share with the
    class.
    Explain any difficult wrds r sentences during the reading prcess.
    Step 4: Pst-reading (10 minutes)
    1. Listen and tick the crrect answers
    Play the audi recrding f the text and have students tick the crrect answers
    t the questins in Exercise 1.
    Check the answers tgether.
    2. Fill in the blanks
    Ask students t cmplete the sentences in Exercise 3 by filling in the blanks
    with the crrect frms f the wrds in the bx.
    Have sme students write their answers n the blackbard and crrect them
    tgether.
    Step 5: Grup wrk (10 minutes)
    1. Divide students int grups and ask them t discuss what they knw abut
    Marc Pl based n the text and their wn knwledge.
    2. Each grup shuld find mre infrmatin abut Marc Pl and prepare a
    presentatin t share with the class.

    3. Encurage students t use the target language and express their ideas clearly.
    Step 6: Summary and Hmewrk (5 minutes)
