My First Ride t Malaysia by Train

My mther always said, "Yu yung men shuld explre yur wn cuntry befre stepping ut int the wrld." It seemed like a tugh task. But luckily fr me, Via Rail Canada ffered yuths between the ages f 18 and 25 the chance t ride the train acrss Canada fr the mnth f July in 2017. I jumped at the pprtunity and secured an inexpensive ticket.
Excitement was at its peak as I apprached the train statin n the mrning when my 22-day adventure was t begin. I jumped n bard the passenger vessel (车厢) like it was the train t Hgwarts in Harry Ptter. The train headed west in search f ur first destinatin — the scenic twn f Banff, Alberta. After just an hur n the train, desperatin already came n me. The thught f three full days n thse tracks brke my spirits. As I gazed ut twards Lake Superir's glistening (闪闪发亮) waves, I decided if I was t be stuck in here, I wuld need t enjy my time.
Thse three days turned int a summer camp n rails. Real friendships with the crew were brn within that train. Stps were made in small, remte railrad villages. A large grup f strangers turned travelling cmpanins wuld rush twards the villages t reward ur endless patience with lcal cuisine. At night, we wuld walk t the glass-dmed (玻璃穹顶) train car, which gave a scenic view f the night sky, untuched by light pllutin.
After three days, we arrived in Banff. Befre my adventure f taking the train acrss Canada, if I culd have skipped the travel and arrived at the destinatin, I wuld have. But that is n lnger true. I've learned that the jurney can be mre enjyable than the destinatin.

Fifteen years ag, I tk a summer vacatin in Lecce in suthern Italy. After climbing up a hill fr a panramic(全景的) view f the blue sea, white buildings and green live trees, I paused t catch my breath and then psitined myself t take the best pht f this panrama.
Unfrtunately, just as I tk ut my camera, a wman apprached frm behind, and planted herself right in frnt f my view. Like me, this wman was here t stp, sigh and appreciate the view.
Patient as I was, after abut 15 minutes, my camera scanning the sun and reviewing the sht I wuld eventually take, I grew frustrated. Was it t much t ask her t mve s I culd take just ne picture f the landscape? Sure, I culd have asked her, but smething prevented me frm ding s. She seemed s cntent in her bservatin. I didn’t want t mess with that.
Anther 15 minutes passed and I grew bred. The wman was still there. I decided t take the pht anyway. And nw when I lk at it, I think her presence in the pht is what makes the image interesting. The landscape, beautiful n its wn, smehw cmes t life and breathes because this wman is engaging with it.
This pht, with the unique beauty that unflded befre me and that wman wh “ruined” it, nw hangs n a wall in my bedrm. What wuld she think if she knew that her figure is captured(捕捉) and frzen n sme stranger’s bedrm wall? A bedrm, after all, is a very private space, in which sme wman I dn’t even knw has been immrtalized(使…… In sme ways, she lives in my huse.
Perhaps we all live in each thers’ spaces. Perhaps this is what phts are fr: t remind us that we all appreciate beauty, that we all share a cmmn desire fr pleasure, fr cnnectin, fr smething that is greater than us.

If yu haven’t heard r seen anything abut Rad Rage in the last few mnths, yu’ve prbably been aviding the media. There have been cuntless stries abut this scary phenmenn, cnsidered a type f aggressive driving. Yu have mst likely encuntered aggressive driving r Rad Rage recently if yu drive at all.
While drunk driving remains a critical prblem, the facts abut aggressive driving are surely as disturbing. Fr instance, accrding t the Natinal Highway Transprtatin Safety Assciatin, 41,907 peple died n the highway last year. Of thse deaths, the agency estimates that abut tw-thirds were caused at least in part by aggressive driving behavir.
Why is this phenmenn ccurring mre than ever nw, and why is it smething that seemed almst nnexistent a few shrt years ag? Experts have several theries, and all are prbably partially crrect. Hwever, the number f new rad miles has nly increased by 1 percent. That means mre cars in the same amunt f space; and the prblem is mre serius in urban areas. Als, peple have less time and mre things t d. With peple wrking and trying t fit extra chres and activities int the day, stress levels have never been higher. Stress creates anxiety, which leads t shrt tempers. These factrs, when cmbined in certain situatins, can spell Rad Rage.
Yu may think yu are the last persn wh wuld drive aggressively, but yu might be surprised. Fr instance, have yu ever yelled ut lud at a slwer driver, sunded the hrn lng and hard at anther car, r sped up t keep anther driver frm passing? If yu recgnize yurself in any f these situatins, watch ut!
Whether yu are getting angry at ther drivers, r anther driver is visibly upset with yu, there are things yu can d t avid any majr cnflict. If yu are susceptible (易受影响的)t Rad Rage, the key is t discharge yur emtin in a healthy way. If yu are the target f anther driver’s rage, d everything pssible t get away frm the ther driver safely, including aviding eye cntact and getting ut f their way.
