Despite plane fd having a bad reputatin, seven ut f ten interviewees said they were happy t eat up n the selectin f in-flight snacks and meals. In-flight magazines were als ppular with fur ut f five passengers.
The internatinal flyers did hwever express their desire fr better in-flight entertainment. “The industry has greatly imprved the cmfrt, entertainment and nbard service, and passengers are accepting thse imprvements,” said Russell Lemieux, APEX executive directr. “At the same time, passengers are demanding mre frm their air travel experiences which will drive mre imprvements tuching all aspects f the jurney.” he added.

With hspitals and nursing hmes tending t thusands f patients every year accidents can and d happen. These incidents whether they are thrugh carelessness r therwise, can leave patients feeling pwerless. That’s nt the case.
“There is grwing public awareness. Peple are feeling they have mre rights and they have tls in hand t make a cmplaint,” said Ralph Mntan, spkesman fr the Califrnia Department f Public Health, which regulates hspitals and lng-term care facilities in the state.
That department received mre than 6000 cmplaints abut hspitals in 2007; in the mst recent year statistics are available. The cmplaints can be abut mixed-up lab results, medicine errrs, freign bjects left in a patient during surgery r a hst f ther tpic.
Similarly, the Califrnia department f Aging received 43, 000 nursing hme cmplaints in 2014. Sme said patient abuse r neglect f patients; thers reprted missing items. And sme cmmented n the quality f the fd.
But finding the channels thrugh them t put frward a cmplaint can be tiring and time cnsumptin. Many cnsumers simply dn’t bther, and sme becme lst in the system. Whether the cmplaint is against a hspital r a lng-term care facility, the prcess is similar—and many peple can help, including the facility’s staff, insurance cmpany representatives and state regulatrs.
If yu want t make a cmplaint while in the hspital, Patti Harvey, vice president f quality and patient care services fr Kaiser Permanente in Suthern Califrnia, recmmends talking with the bedside nurse. If that desn’t wrk, yu can talk with ther peple higher in the chain f cmmand, up t the hspital administratr. In 1787 Captain Bligh was given cmmand f “The Bunty”, a three-year-ld merchant ship. His missin was t transprt breadfruit plants frm the island f Tahiti t the West Indies. Hwever, there is quite a lt f evidence t suggest that this picture is far frm being true. He seems t have been unusually thughtful abut the health and welfare f his men. Fr example he made sure that his crew gt exercise, insisted n cleanliness n his ship, and adpted the practice f giving them a drink which prevented scurvy every day.
When Captain Bligh arrived in Tahiti, it became clear that it wuld be sme mnths befre the breadfruit trees were ready t be taken t the West Indies. Instead f ging ff right away, he gave his crew extended shre leave. This may have been a mistake as many were unhappy abut leaving when the time came. Finally, n the return jurney the rebellin tk place. The ship was under the cmmand f the rebels and Captain Bligh had t leave in a small bat.
Captain Bligh’s achievement was t get t dry land successfully. It is ne f the supreme examples f seamanship. Michael Dickinsn’s team used plumes—a material that rises int the air f carbn dixide gas int a wind tunnel. They then used cameras t recrd the msquites. The insects fllwed the plume.
Then, the scientists placed dark bjects n the lighter clred flr and walls f the tunnel. Mr Dickinsn said, at first, the msquites shwed n interest in the bjects at all. “What was quite striking and quite surprising is that the msquites fly back and frth fr hurs. These are hungry females and they cmpletely ignre the bjects n the flr and wall f the tunnel. But the mment they get a hit f , they change their behavir quite bviusly and nw wuld becme attracted t these little visual blbs(斑点).”
