Last year in the UK at least 45 people died and 900 more were injured in car accidents where drivers were using their mobile phones. Yet many people continue to use them while driving even though it's dangerous.
Research has shown that it is difficult to concentrate on driving and talking at the same time. It can even be more dangerous than driving after drinking too much. A recent study found that when drivers were talking on their mobile phones, their stopping times were 30 percent slower than when they had drunk too much—and nearly 50 percent slower than when they were driving normally. It also found that drivers talking on mobile phones were less able to control their cars than drunk drivers.
And talking isn't even the most serious problem, texting is. Unbelievably, another recent study reported that 22 % of adults admitted they had sent a text message while driving at least once in the past month. An average text message takes 90 seconds to write and send. That means for one and a half minutes a driver is looking at their phone's screen and not at the road. The arrival of new smart phones such as the iPhone will only make matters worse as they will allow users to do more things than ever before.
Using a mobile phone while driving puts others' lives at risk. No matter how well we drive, if another driver is not being professional or careful, we are put in danger by their actions. Such drivers are selfish, careless and should have their driving licences(驾照) cancelled.
There is no doubt that mobile phones call be fun and are extremely useful, especially when you're in trouble. But there is no need to use them while driving. Just wait until you stop or you will probably get into trouble of your own.
51.The underlined word "them" in paragraph 1 refers to __________.
A.phone users B.mobile phones C.drivers D.ears
52.According to the passage, if a driver needs 10 seconds to stop when driving normally, they will need __________ seconds to stop when talking on a mobile phone.
A.12. B.13. C.14. D.15.

Dangerous→More dangerous→Most dangerous
A.drinking→talking on phone→texting B.texting→talking on phone→drinking
C.talking on phone→texting→drinking D.drinking→texting→talking on phone
54.Why will new types of mobile phones make the driving problem worse?
A.It will take longer to send text messages.
B.People will want to talk on their phones more often.
C.There will be more things for people to do with their phones.
D.People think the new phones are easier and safer to use.
55.According to the writer, what should be done to people who use mobile phones when driving?

The novel coronavirus pneumonias (COVID-1) outbreak in China was caused by a new coronavinus that we have never seen before. Some doctors found that several patients infected COVID-19 had been to the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan. All kinds of wild animals were on sale in the market. Some scientists found that the virus might come from bats and was then spread to humans from pangolins(穿山甲). According to Live Science, bats can carry and spread more than 60 viruses that can infect humans, such as Ebola and SARS. Other wild animals like snakes are also hosts of many viruses.
Why are bats probably the source of so many viruses? Here are several reasons as follows.
1. Bats tend to live in dark and wet places where there are many kinds of viruses.
2. Bats always live in groups. Therefore, the viruses can have larger "playgrounds" to evolve and become more powerful.
3. Bats are mammals(哺乳动物), just like humans. Our similar genes make it easier for us to become infected with the same viruses.
4. When bats fly, their body temperature can reach as high as 40℃. This high temperature can kill weak viruses, but stronger ones will survive and continue to evolve.
5. Bats have special immune(免疫的) systems that allow them to live with viruses without getting sick.
6. Since they can fly, bats can spread viruses farther and more easily than other animals. Although wild animals carry many diseases, it doesn’t mean that we should regard them as evil. Each has a role in the ecosystem(生态系统) and all of them are important for keeping a good ecological balance. The lesson we should learn from virus outbreaks is to respect and protect animals and to live in harmony with them, instead of hunting, killing, or eating them.
56.From the passage, some doctors found several patients infected COVID-19 had been to __________.
A.a seafood market B.a station C.a school D.a hospital
57.According to some scientists’ discovery, the virus might come from __________.

A.Bats are mammals, not like humans.
B.High body temperature of bats can kill strong viruses.
C.The virus Ebola came from bats.
D.Wild animals carry many diseases, so we should regard them as evil.
60.The best title of this passage is__________.
A.From Bats to Our Bodies B.A Terrible Virus
C.Never Eat Bats D.Lovely Bats

六、读写综合(本题分为A、B两个部分,共25分)
A. 回答问题(本题有5小题,每小题2分,共10分)
Wang Yue, a grade-seven student from Jiangsu, opened a study app to see how to solve a difficult math problem. However, a lot of game advertisements popped up(突然出现), which made her very angry.
In fact, that is just one of several disappointing things about study apps that are widely used by students. Study apps aim to help students learn. For example, students can check answers to problems and take online courses(课程). However, with more study apps coming into the market, serious competition has caused some apps to change. Making good use of them has become a problem.
Some study apps have social media features(社交媒体功能) that can disturb students. Li Xieyi, 14, from Sichuan, has noticed this. “I once joined a chat group to learn from others. However, hundreds of messages appeared on my phone,” she said. So, she left the chat group. “If you don’t have self-control, just pay attention to studying, don’t use study apps,” she said.
In addition, some students simply copy answers from study apps. Zhang Shiyuan, 14, from Shanghai, often sees her classmates do so. But she has a better way to use study apps. “They show many ways to solve one problem. I try them one by one and see how they work. Then I use the things I’ve learned to solve the problem again,” she said.
