三、阅读单选
I remembered I had a gun if I needed it, and turned back towards this man of the island. He was hiding behind another tree but stepped out to meet me.
“Who are you?” I asked, staring at him.
“Ben Gunn.” he answered, and his voice sounded rough and strange. His skin was burnt nearly black by the sun and his clothes were made from pieces of a ship’s sail, “Poor Ben Gunn.” he went on. “Alone for three years.”
“Were you shipwrecked(遭遇海难)?” I asked.
“No, my friend.” he said. “Marooned.”
I had heard the word before, and knew it meant a cruel(残忍的)punishment often used by pirates(海盗)—leaving a man alone on some distant, empty islands.
“Marooned for three years,” he continued, “eating wild goats and fish. But I’m in a great need for real English food back home. You don’t have a piece of cheese, do you? Many nights I’ve seen cheese in my dreams.”
He continued, “Well, tell me your name.”
“Jim.” I told him.
“Well, Jim,” he said, looking around and lowering his voice to a whisper, “I’m rich.” I was now sure the poor man was crazy, but he repeated his words. “Rich. I say! Now, Jim, that isn’t Flint’s ship, is it?”
I began to think that I had found a friend, and I answered him at once. “It’s not Flint’s ship any more. Flint is dead, but there are still some of Flint’s men on board, and that’s bad news for us.”
“A man with one leg?” he asked, fear in his voice.
“Silver?” I asked.
“Yes, Silver,” he said, “that was his name.”
“He’s the cook, and their leader, too.” And I told him the fight between Flint and the cook, and the danger we were in.

On February 18, NASA’s Perseverance rover(“毅力”号火星车)made a historic landing on the surface of Mars.
This is the fifth rover NASA has sent to Mars and it is full of firsts. It will be the first rover to search for signs of ancient life. A helicopter(直升机)will fly on the planet for the first time as well. The rover is also better at solving problems on its own than previous(先前的)rovers.
Landing a spacecraft on Mars isn’t easy. It had to go through the “seven minutes of terror”(惊险七分钟), as NASA calls the landing process, all by itself. Since it takes 11 minutes for a radio signal to travel from Earth to Mars, NASA couldn’t control the craft during the porcess.
The spacecraft hit the top of the Martian atmosphere(大气层)moving at 12,000 miles per hour (19,300 km per hour) and had to slow down to 1.7 miles per hour (2.7 km per hour) within seven minutes before landing. Drag(空气阻力)that was created by the atmosphere slowed it down.
At the same time, the surface of the craft heated up to about 1,300℃. This high temperature could melt(融化)the rover! But since the craft’s heat shield (抗热涂层)was able to take in most of this heat, Perseverance itself only reached room temperature.
The craft then used both a parachute(降落伞)and a sky crane(空中吊车)to slow itself down to finally reach Mars. A video of the landing was later shared online, allowing people all over the world to see the amazing moment. The rover even recorded audio on Mars for the first time just after landing, getting the sounds of Martian wind.
84.Why was Perseverance sent to Mars?
A.To make a video. B.To take a helicopter to the planet.
C.To look for signs of ancient life. D.To check on NASA’s previous rovers.
85.What did the spacecraft do during the “seven minutes of terror”?
A.It reached a speed of 120,000 miles per hour.
B.It had to slow itself down to get ready for landing.
C.It created drag that helped it land on Mars.
D.It waited for a radio signal from a control room on Earth.
86.Paragraph 5 tells us travelling through the Martian atmosphere can be _______.
A.dangerous B.interesting C.simple D.slow
87.Which of the following is True according to the passage?
A.It takes 11 minutes for a rover to travel from Earth to Mars.
B.The high temperature melted Perseverance at last.
C.Perseverance had to go through the landing process all by itself.
D.Perseverance’s landing was covered live.
88.What is the passage mainly about?

A
You may know the painting Along the River During Qingming Festival(《清明上河图》) by an artist called Zhang Zeduan in the Song Dynasty. Over 300 students from Nanjing Zhonghua High School worked together to recreate this famous painting.
The students’ art teacher Ma Min found a high-definition(高清的)picture of the painting, divided the painting into eight parts and gave each part to a different group of students. Then, Ma joined the parts together to form the finished painting, which is 84 centimeters wide and 20 meters long.
The students began to work on the painting last September. It took them about three months to finish it. They had to use their imagination to fill in details and make sure that one part matched another both in the form and in the painting style.
The students did a lot of research and made some interesting findings. Li Zixuan, 13, was asked to paint the busy streets along the river. She learned that pillars(柱子)were used to create boundaries near the river. Shops were not allowed to open across this boundary. Otherwise, they would be punished with beatings.

八、信息归纳
The Internet is a place where we can have free communication with others. But it is also a place where our language competence(能力)is becoming poorer.
Some people in China find their Chinese language skills have declined(下降). They no more use rhetorical techniques(修辞手法)or creative expressions.
It is believed that technology and Internet memes(表情包)have changed our communication habits. For example, a direct expression is usually the preferred way to communicate online. When we see something funny, we will simply use the “cry-laugh” emoji(表情符号).
Also, the “copy and paste(粘贴)” culture is getting popular. People simply pick up expressions online. Without thinking, they begin to use a fixed set of sentence patterns.
Words are used less. People think less and get fewer chances to have face-to-face communication than before. They just share photos online with little need for words to describe them. They even send festival greetings in the form of pictures or WeChat red packets.
If this trend(趋势)continues, it could influence how we think. When we use expressions without thinking, we will become too lazy to express our real feelings. If teenagers always use expressions like emojis, they may lose the ability to use words properly in real life.
To improve our language skills, experts suggest that we should try to think independently and develop language logic(逻辑). They also suggest that we should read famous works.
