    In 1963, a female Japanese snw mnkey living in Jigkudani Mnkey Park in Nagan, Japan, was

    behavir, the researchers said. As yu might imagine, a grup f mnkeys bathing in a ht spring meant
    t hld peple made peple feel the ht spring dirty, s the park management built a new ht spring just
    fr the mnkeys. By 2003, abut a third f the snw mnkeys living in this park ften bathed in the ht
    spring in the winter. The bathing mnkeys are nw already a ppular turist attractin.
    The bathing mnkeys seemed t be bathing t stay warm, but scientists had n data t supprt this
    thery, they said. In the new study, the researchers cllected data frm 12 adult female mnkeys in
    Jigkudani Mnkey Park between April and June, and again frm Octber t December. They examined
    hw much time the mnkeys spent in the ht spring, and als studied the data fr “fecal gluccrticid” ,
    a metblite(代谢物) , related t the levels f stress in mnkeys.
    The researchers fund that female snw mnkeys did use the ht spring mre ften in the winter
    than in the spring, especially during clder weeks.
