教学步骤
Step 1 Revisin and lead-in
Check the hmewrk. Then ask students t listen t a teenager talking abut his life.
T: As a teenager, there are sme things yu must r mustn’t/can’t d. Nw we’ll listen t a passage. A teenager is talking abut his life. Listen carefully and check the things he must and mustn’t d.
Ask students t listen t the tape and chse right answers.
Then ask students t listen again and answer the questins in activity 2.
G thrugh the answers with the students and play the tape again t check their answers.
Step 2 Grammar practice
Reviewing the use f must, mustn’t, can, can’t as fllws. Shw the fllwing.

Then ask students t d activities 2—7. Check the answers with the class.
After this, ask students t read Sings arund the wrld n page 103 and then wrk in pairs and guess the meanings f the signs in activity 11.
Step 3 New wrds and expressins
Learn the new wrds by asking students t d activity 9.
T: Let’s play a game. Guess what it is! Wrk in grups, ne grup chses a wrd r an expressins frm the bx and describe it t the class. The ther grup shuld guess the wrds r expressins in turn. The ne wh gt it will win the game.
Then ask students t finish activities 8 and 10.
Check the answers with class.
Step 4 Mdule task
In this prcedure, students will wrk in pairs and discuss the advice fr freign guests t a Chinese family and then write the advice dwn.
Sample ntes:
The Chinese will nd r bw slightly as an initial greeting. Handshakes are als ppular; wait, hwever, fr yur Chinese cunterpart t initiate the gesture.
If yu visit a schl, theater, r ther wrkplace, it is likely that yu will be greeted with applause as a sign f welcme. In turn, yu shuld respnd by applauding back.
Avid making expansive gestures and using unusual facial expressins.
The Chinese d nt use their hands when speaking, and will nly becme annyed with a speaker wh des.
Sme hand gestures, hwever, are necessary. They are utlined in the next tw pints.

Public displays f affectin, such as kissing, between the sexes are frwned upn.
D nt put yur hands in yur muth, as it is cnsidered vulgar. Cnsequently, when in public, avid biting yur nails, remving fd frm yur teeth, and similar practices.
Pushing is cmmn in lineups.
Spitting in public is acceptable.
Blwing yur nse with a handkerchief is als acceptable.
Dress Cde:
Casual clthes are acceptable everywhere, althugh smarter clthes can gain mre respect. Revealing clthes shuld be avided.
